Which one is best ?
If you’ve been following me long enough, you know that Vitamin D is my best friend. Just being outside is the best way of getting a healthy dosage, however sometimes that is not enough. At one point I was deficient in Vitamin D, which was sabotaging my health. The sunshine was not enough; Matter a fact I came to find out that vitamin D does not absorb as easily in people with darker skin then those with lighter skin. Dark skin people need 10 to 50 times more sunlight than a light skinned person to get the same amount of D vitamin from the sun. Even if you use sunscreen it reduces the D absorption into the body.
So being a sun goddess in my younger years, which I know is so bad for me, all along I thought I was getting a powerful dosage of vitamin D until my doctor told me I was deficient.
I had to take 10,000 IU’s daily. For those that do not like the outdoors it is crucial that you take a D supplement. I highly recommend you ask your doctor to do some blood work just to make sure you are not deficient. Sometimes adding that small dosage of D will make a big difference in your health.
Consuming the right amount of Vitamin D is good for stronger bones and teeth, helps to boosts the immune system, releases endorphins, and helps stabilize your emotions. Plus it’s good for the absorption of calcium, a mineral that keeps your bones healthy.
Just getting out in the sun for 15 minutes and absorbing the sunshine into your body will give you a boost of energy. So go out and recharge your body with some good ole natural Vitamin D plus make sure you add those supplements if needed.
