One thing that is really important is understanding what autoimmune is and how it affects your system. Autoimmune disease is when your body is working hard to defend itself against something potentially dangerous, like an infection, food, or a toxin. It fails to tell the difference between an intruder and parts of your body. It’s a systemic inflammation that causes your body to attack itself and which proteins/cells are attacked is what separates one disease from another. For instance, In Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, the thyroid gland is attacked, in Rheumatoid Arthritis; the tissues of your joints are attacked and in psoriasis, proteins within the layers of cells that make up your skin are attacked, however, the root cause is the same. What actually causes this no one really knows.
If you experience any symptoms or a combination of Joint pain, muscle pain, insomnia, fatigue, feeling tired, rashes, difficulty concentrating, foggy brain, rapid weight gain or always being cold, more than likely you have some sort of an autoimmune disorder. Even though many are not diagnosed with any type of autoimmune, there are a high percentage of people walking around with some sort of autoimmune.
While there are many causes of autoimmune, about one third of the time it could be genetics. By removing the acidic foods and making much healthier choices, in most cases you can reverse the symptoms and heal your body naturally.
If your body has an autoimmune reaction, it is necessary to remove a wide variety of potentially inflammatory foods for a short time and then reintroduce them to test the response. Autoimmune disease cannot be “cured,” but in many cases, it is possible to put the condition into remission and reverse the symptoms with a careful diet and lifestyle changes. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms I mentioned, it is best to pay your doctor a visit and get yourself tested before starting any healing diet.
I am currently writing a book for beginners to help you choose the right foods to reverse your symptoms so you can live a much happier life. I know doing research can be hard to digest and get so overwhelming so I hope to bring you a powerful book that can make things much easier to get started on your road to recovery. Focus on nourishing your body with healthy foods and giving it the love and attention it deserves.
Find a support system whether a family member, friend or even connect with me on my Facebook page and feel free to ask any questions. My boys were my biggest supporters and cheerleaders even though they were not big veggie eaters and didn’t like some of the meals I made at the beginning. I remember them looking at the food I served, make weird faces, but they ate it anyway because they knew it would make me feel better and support what I was trying to accomplish. Plus they knew it was much healthier for their bodies.
Come join me on Facebook so you can see the many simple dishes I prepare to help you get started until I get my book finished.
